Here is a note from Holly Sack:

Hi Everyone: JoAnn and I are planning a play date for Nia belts in Tucson.  Would love to know your interest.  Some of you have asked for choreography and doing bars.  What else do you need?  We would really enjoy doing this for you, but need to know who is in!!!

Thinking about a Sunday to be determined.  Kathy, can you please ask the Phoenix Nia belt community if they are interested as well??  We'd love to have all of you!!  We can even plan a little potluck after the workshop.  Also, Tama is planning a 52 moves play date more info. to follow.  With tons of love!!

Loretta Milo will be holding is a special class for WB Grads on Sunday, November 13, 10:30 AM at Equilibrium Studio - FOR WHITE BELT GRADS ONLY.

Tips and Tricks for teaching Nia and Building the Nia Community (by donation)

Equilibrium Studio is located at 802 W. Osborn in Phoenix.

See the Events page for details and sign up.

A few months ago Loretta led a Humanity Routine Intensive.  We had a mix of teachers and non-teaching belt grads.  It was a great experience and I recommend the Cadence Routine intensive to any belt grad.  You get a great start on learning a routine and you get to hang out with Nia-friends, always fun.

See the White Belt 2011 page of this website for the downloadable flyer.  Spread the word!

Some of the Nia teachers got together and decided that we'd like to have some professional small flyers that we would have printed and which would be available for all Arizona teachers who wished to buy some.  We are looking at approximately 3" by 5".

Here is the final draft - the idea is that all four of the flyers would have the same text on the back side (scroll to end of pdf to see that).  I'm planning to have them printed next week.  The pdf file is attached below.

UPDATE - I'm finding that printing will be more expensive than expected so I'm looking at business cards with a similar look.  I'm hoping to have something small and very inexpensive so we can distribute them freely.

NIA TEACHING PRACTICE SESSIONS in Phoenix
I'm especially hoping that people with less or no Nia teaching experience will come, whether or not they plan to teach.
We will practice leading, cueing and enhancing our barring ability while dancing.  We're not going to sit around - we will DANCE!

The practice sessions are for any Nia Belt grad (licensed or not) who wants to practice leading a song, whether or not they want to be in the Jam, and especially especially for those at Loretta's Humanity playshop.

The focal Routine is Humanity but feel free to choose to lead a song from a different routine, it's your practice.

Monday April 25th at 5:30 - 7PM in the Nia room (room 114) at FUMC (First United Methodist Church) at Central and Missouri is the first date.  I have also scheduled May 2nd.

Hope to see you there!   If you want music other than Humanity, please bring your iPod or CD unless it is from the currently available NiaTunes - I do have all current routines on my iPod.

For more info, contact me at kathy@seasonsnia.com

Loretta Milo will be leading a Routine Immersion for Carlos's new Humanity routine.   She coordinated with Phoenix Jam producers to make sure people could easily attend both events.

All Belt grads welcome, no need for current license.

Loretta will share the Humanity Routine's fully dressed bars as well as a method of "embodying" that is fun and easy for teachers of all levels of experience.

Advance sign-up is required so Loretta can bring enough handouts (which include dressed BARS - I'm so excited!).

NOTE - as of 2/15 the job posting has been removed but I believe there is still interest in finding someone.  Here is the original post: The City of Tempe has posted a job opening for a Nia Instructor.   It looks like it was posted some time ago but is still open.   Thanks to a Nia student for noticing this!
For details, see http://www.tempe.gov/recreation/jobs/
