PHOENIX - Sunday July 3rd the City Square Sports Club closes early so the 3PM Club will not be held.

Some of the posters for the July Jam say it starts at noon.  No, it was always planned to start at 11 AM and that's still the plan!  Sorry for any confusion.

Casey Fernandez will host the July Jam at 11 AM on Sunday July 10th at the Village Health Club at 4444 East Camelback Road in the Arcadia neighborhood of Phoenix.  It's at the NE corner of Camelback and 44th Street. More info and a map on the Second Sunday Page.

Lots of students, lots of teachers and a bunch of new-to-Nia folks showed up and had a good time at the June Jam. Thanks to SAC for the space and the teachers for donating their time.  The food at OCSeven was worth the trip too.

See Second Sunday.  Next Jam is June 12th!  It's FREE!!

Holly Curtis (now Holly Nastasi) has taught and supported most of the Nia teachers in the SouthWest.

If you follow Holly on Facebook, you will have seen the posts about her adult son's terrible accident and his progress to date.   Treatment and rehabilitation will be horribly expensive and Holly has set up a fund raising site.
Here is the start of Holly's fundrazr message on FB:

'Daniel had a diving accident on Monday, May 30th, 2011. He has a C6 spinal cord injury which will require years of rehabilitation. His prognosis is good and we want the best...'

I'm not sure whether you need to have a FaceBook account to see this.  Of course you can always send donations directly to Holly if you prefer to avoid Facebook.

Holly was my White Belt teacher in 2009 and at the graduation ceremony she included a votive candle for each graduate.  Mine said "HOPE" on it.  I saved the candle and never felt inclined to light it until I heard of her son's accident when I immediately lit it and fired the intention of hope and healing for Daniel and Holly and her family.   Join me in sending hope, prayers and help as you are able.
